Professional Services Roundtable
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is implementing a six-monthly Professional Services Roundtable, which brings together professional services peak bodies and exporters to identify priority markets and market-access barriers, including ‘behind-the-border’ process, procedural, regulatory and cultural barriers. DFAT will use this mechanism for two-way exchange of information and to feed industry priorities into trade negotiations and other official international engagements. The inaugural roundtable was held in March 2021 with over 30 industry representatives.
In addition, DFAT will be holding regular sessions with other services industry subsectors to continue strengthening DFAT’s partnership with industry and to maintain sector-specific lists of barriers to services exports.
