Government should support industry-led campaigns at secondary schools and industry be visibly active in recognising and rewarding excellence in technical professions to promote technical careers, including in services export industries.
Progress to date
The Government continues to implement the $585 million Delivering Skills for Today and Tomorrow package of measures to strengthen the vocational education and training system.
The National Careers Institute (NCI) was established to ensure people have access to authoritative and accurate careers information and support irrespective of their age or career stage.
Your Career — a user-focused digital platform — is the careers 'front door' for people of all ages and all stages to find accurate and authoritative careers information, helping them to make more informed choices about study, training and employment pathways.
