Use of FTAs by Australian businesses and trade supported

A 2018 PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) report titled Free Trade Agreement Utilisation Study concluded FTAs were being widely used and have a positive impact on business confidence, activity, strategy, and expansion planning, including in the services sector.

Progress to date

In June and July 2021, the Australian Services Roundtable co-hosted with the Institute for International Trade (IIT) at the University of Adelaide two webinars providing Stakeholder Perspectives on an Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement. Industry participants from TheCityUK, the UK Professional and Business Services Council, Universities UK and the Australian Services Roundtable participated in the interactive business discussion on the prospects for enhanced trade relations under the agreement.
